Britain Got Talent finalists, Richard and Adam will be performing on the 1st of August at SLS Live.
The duet will take over our studio from 7.30 pm BST. You can expect an evening of unique, musical interpretations of the biggest hits from West End classics to some of the greatest pop songs. Although the brothers called the show “Live in your Lounge”, we know this captivating performance will keep you at the edge of your seat. A week before the show, we caught up with Richard and Adam for a quick interview.
When did you discover that you have a talent for singing?
Adam, at the age of 15 performed at high school to a standing ovation from his whole year, this brought singing home which got us both practising and singing with musicals and opera.
What did you do before the audition in Britain Got Talent?
We both worked in the family businesses, myself in Subway and Adam in the coffee shop – but we often had to swap to help out!
Can you describe the feelings before the first audition?
We both will never forget the feeling of uncontrollable knee wobbles along with a massive sense of excitement!
And the final? You have handled the “egg” situation like a pro.
It was a moment we didn’t expect or want to happen, but as she came forward we had practised so much we were on autopilot and just gave it our all and didn’t stop!
What was life like immediately after the BGT?
We had a week of waiting for calls, then it all came in one go! The management team and the record label called with confirmation of a five-album deal!
You have been touring a lot, how did you cope with being away from home for long periods?
We enjoyed the tour experience and took the family with us every so often, which is excellent, and it breaks up being away for long periods.
What has been the best performance of your career so far?
I think we can both agree performing at the London Palladium was a massive highlight for us both.
What is your favourite song to sing?
It will always be the Impossible Dream as it holds so many memories for us.
Your family are your greatest supporters. Tell us about your biggest fan, the famous “nan”?
Nan will always be our number 1 fan, she often says our singing has taken her to places she would never have been, and she has also made life long friends.
Since March whole of the UK is in lockdown. What was the best and the worst thing about it?
The worst thing for us is not to be able to go on the stage and perform together and having to postpone all our shows to 2021, especially after having such a blast last year on tour.
The worst thing about Coronavirus (COVID-19)?
I think it will always be the worry of the people close to us being at risk, especially our Nan and Grandad.
What does the future hold for the entertainment industry?
We hope some normality can be restored for 2021 and, with some precautions, entertainment can resume.
Do you think the virtual show is the “new normal”?
I do think theatre will return, but virtual shows are a great way to perform, and even allow people from around the world to tune in that wouldn’t usually have the chance!
